Live translation for Zoom services
Speak in your language — every attendee hears the message in theirs. No bots joining your meeting, nothing for attendees to install.
How it works
Once your church connects its Zoom account, starting a meeting is all it takes: the meeting's audio streams securely to ChurchTranslator, which produces live translated voice and captions in the languages your church has enabled. Attendees open your church's listener page (a link pinned in the Zoom chat or a QR code on screen), tap a language, and listen — switching languages any time with one tap.
Installing the Zoom app
- In your ChurchTranslator dashboard, open Streaming & Zoom and click Connect Zoom account. (No ChurchTranslator account yet? Start here — setup takes a few minutes.)
- Sign in on zoom.us as your Zoom account's admin and approve the app. You'll land right back on your dashboard.
- In the Zoom web portal, make sure Realtime Media Streams is enabled under Account Settings, and that desktop clients are version 6.5.5 or newer.
- Start a meeting and speak. Attendees use your listener page — share it from the dashboard's QR & signage page.
What the app accesses
- Meeting audio, in real time, during your meetings only — used solely to produce live translation for your attendees.
- Your Zoom account ID — stored so meetings on your account route to your church's translation setup. We store no other Zoom profile data and no Zoom passwords or tokens.
Audio is processed live and is not retained after the meeting. Details in our privacy policy.
Removing the app
Uninstall ChurchTranslator from your Zoom account (Zoom Marketplace → Manage → Added Apps → Remove). The moment Zoom notifies us, your account link and its streaming credentials are revoked automatically — no audio can flow afterward. You can also disconnect from the dashboard's Streaming & Zoom page.
Using Zoom without the app
Churches on paid Zoom plans can also stream a meeting to ChurchTranslator via Zoom's built-in Custom Live Streaming Service — setup instructions are on the dashboard's Streaming & Zoom page. The Zoom app is the easier path and works on free Zoom accounts too.
