Live translation inside your Zoom meeting

Preach, pray or lead the meeting in your language — everyone else hears it in theirs, right inside Zoom. No bot joins your meeting.

How it works

The host opens ChurchTranslator from Zoom's Apps and presses Translate this meeting. Zoom sends the meeting's audio securely to ChurchTranslator, which produces live translated voice and captions in the languages your church has enabled. Invite everyone opens the ChurchTranslator panel for every participant: they pick a language, press Listen, and can turn on Hear only the translation to mute the meeting's own audio just for themselves (Zoom asks them to confirm).

People on phones, tablets or the Zoom web client use your church's listener link instead — the panel shows its QR code and the host can post it in the chat with one click. Same languages, same voice.

Getting the Zoom app

Our Zoom app — listed in Zoom as Church Translator, two words — is in beta with a few churches while Zoom reviews it for the App Marketplace. To join the beta, email help@churchtranslator.ai. Until then, Zoom services work today through Zoom's live streaming (below).

In your ChurchTranslator dashboard, open Streaming, Zoom & Meet and click Connect Zoom account. Sign in on zoom.us and approve the app. (No ChurchTranslator account yet? Start here — setup takes a few minutes.)
Your Zoom account admin turns on Share realtime meeting content with apps (Zoom web portal → Account Settings → Meeting). Zoom desktop must be version 6.5 or newer.
In a meeting, open Apps → Church Translator and press Translate this meeting. Then press Invite everyone.
Keep people who aren't speaking muted — the whole meeting's audio is translated.

What the app accesses

Meeting audio, in real time, while translation is on — from the moment the host presses Translate (or your admin sets the app to start with your meetings) until it stops or the meeting ends. Used solely to produce the live translation.
Your Zoom account ID and user ID — stored so your meetings route to your church, and so the app knows who on your Zoom account may start translation. We store no other Zoom profile data and no Zoom passwords or access tokens.
The meeting's ID while it is being translated — so every participant's panel finds your church's translation. Kept for 12 hours.
In each participant's panel, the language they picked is kept on their own computer.

Audio is processed live and is not retained after the meeting, unless your church turns on Service Replay; then each meeting is deleted 24 hours after it ends. Details in our privacy policy.

Removing the app

Uninstall Church Translator from Zoom (Zoom App Marketplace → Manage → Added Apps → Remove). The moment Zoom notifies us, your account link and its streaming credentials are revoked automatically — no audio can flow afterward. You can also disconnect from the dashboard's Streaming, Zoom & Meet page.

Using Zoom without the app

Churches on paid Zoom plans can stream a meeting to ChurchTranslator through Zoom's built-in Custom Live Streaming Service — setup instructions are on the dashboard's Streaming, Zoom & Meet page. Attendees then use your listener link. It adds a few seconds of delay compared with the app.
