Our mission

It started at Woodmark Church in Kirkland, Washington. The only translation there was Russian, given by a ministry team of human translators. In May 2026 Max Kulinich, Woodmark's Worship Pastor, built the first version of ChurchTranslator.AI so everyone in the room could understand the sermon, and it ran at Woodmark on real Sundays before any other church used it.

A member of Woodmark was asked to check the Mandarin Chinese translation. After the service she said it was the first time she had understood an entire sermon.

Other churches saw on social media what was happening at Woodmark, so we built it for them too. Today more than 100 churches use ChurchTranslator.AI.

The people in the pews never pay and never sign up. There is no app to install and no account to make, and a church can have as many listeners as walk through the door. Live captions are free on every plan. Christian conferences can apply for free translation.

Churches pay for the hours of live service time they translate (see pricing). That income pays for running the platform: hosting it, and the AI services that translate each church service.

Kulinich Tech is a 501(c)(3) public charity in Washington. Its founder and CEO, Max Kulinich, is the Worship Pastor at Woodmark Church. More about the organization, including its IRS determination letter, is at kulinich.tech.
